Privacy Policy

How we handle your data on lightnet.ch – explained in plain language and aligned with the Swiss revFADP and, where applicable, the EU GDPR.

Controller

1. Who is responsible for data processing?

The entity responsible for the processing of personal data via this website is:

lightnet multimedia gmbh, Baumgarten, 3376 Graben, Switzerland. Email: info@lightnet.ch. Phone: +41 76 574 80 90.

For questions about data protection, please contact this address directly.

Principle

2. What data do we process and why?

We process personal data only to the extent necessary for the operation of this website and for our services. The legal basis is the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Personal data is information that relates to an identified or identifiable person – for example a name, email address, or IP address.

Server logs

3. Website access (server logs)

On every visit to lightnet.ch, our hosting provider processes technical access data. In particular:

– date and time of the visit

– IP address (shortened where applicable)

– requested URL and HTTP status code

– referrer URL and user agent (browser identifier)

These logs are used to ensure operation, for troubleshooting, and to defend against attacks. The data is not combined with other sources and is automatically deleted after a short retention period.

Contact form

4. Contact by form, email, or phone

When you reach out via the contact form, by email, or by phone, we process the details you share (name, company, email address, phone number, request) solely to answer your enquiry and to handle any business relationship that may arise from it.

The data is not used for advertising and is not shared with unauthorised third parties. It is kept only as long as statutory retention periods or legitimate interests require.

Cookies

5. Cookies and local storage

Technically necessary cookies are only set when required for a requested function (for example when using the contact form). Such cookies do not contain personal data.

We also use Google Analytics 4 cookies for traffic measurement (see section 6).

Traffic measurement

6. Google Analytics 4

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google Analytics sets cookies that enable statistical analysis of how the website is used. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transmitted to a Google server in the United States and stored there.

Google Analytics 4 anonymises IP addresses automatically before storage. We analyse the data only in aggregated form to understand visitor numbers and usage patterns and to improve the website. We do not combine this data with other sources.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating an economically viable and user-oriented website (Art. 31 para. 1 revFADP and Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR).

You can prevent the collection by Google Analytics by installing the browser add-on to disable Google Analytics: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Processors

7. External service providers and hosting

The website is hosted on a shared-hosting server in Switzerland or the EU. The hosting provider processes technical access data solely on our behalf.

TeamViewer QuickSupport may be used for remote support sessions. The connection is always explicitly approved by you. Only data that you consciously share during the session is transmitted.

Your rights

8. Rights of data subjects

You have the right to request information about, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, and to object to the processing of your personal data. You may also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

An informal message to info@lightnet.ch is enough to exercise any of these rights.

Current version

9. Updates to this privacy policy

This privacy policy is updated occasionally to reflect our current operations. The version published on this page at the time of access applies.
